DEE ANN NEWKIRK (Elizabeth Matthews)
Dee Ann Newkirk was most recently seen as “Frankie” in the Ensemble Theatre Company of Santa Barbara’s production of Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune. She also appeared in their production of Creditors last season under the direction of Jonathan Fox. She portrayed the character “Alice” under the direction of Cameron Watson in The New American Theatre’s production of I Never Sang for My Father appearing opposite Philip Baker Hall.
Other recent LA Theatre credits are: Almost, Maine (Colony Theatre), Dinner with Friends (Theatre 40), and Diverting Devotion (Art Works Theatre).
On Broadway, she understudied in A Month in Country with Helen Mirren, F. Murray Abraham, and Jennifer Garner, and has performed in numerous Off-Off-Broadway plays in NYC and regional theatres across the country.
In addition to appearing in Vacant House, Dee Ann’s recent film work also includes the lead role in the feature, Hollywood Musical written and directed by Alexander Baack. Dee Ann writes and performs for both the Barrow Group Theatre (NYC) and the Yo! Yo! Theatre Company in Los Angeles, which she founded in 2005.
