RICHARD MIRAAN (Reverend Matthews)
The Facts: Canadian by birth; Angeleno by choice; performer by inclination. Elementary schools=11; High Schools=7 (never did graduate) Navy: Marine Engineer (Stoker, to those in the mess). Musician, plumber, bartender, electrician, mason. Universities=4 (BA, MA) Actor, Art Conservator, Actor (again), Beekeeper, 19th Century firearm nut (muzzleloaders only, thank you). Married=31 years
The Highlights: Restoring the last 13 letters written by a 19 year old Civil War soldier. My return to acting in J. Casper's Vacant House (a heartfelt Thank You). Restoring Billy the Kid's rifle and JFK's Presentation Pistol. Getting my SAG card in OZ: the Great and Powerful. Starring (solo) role in T. Rettenmaier's The Light Thief
The Story: I entered the actor's craft young, and left too soon. Decades went by with only classes, workshops, and the occasional role in small productions (do you remember me Dracula: The Musical) to nourish the craving. Los Angeles beckoned and lo, there was theater and film abounding. But after so long, would the chops be stale...uh, yup. But this intrepid fellow dove into stagecraft with gusto; got me some more learnin' and the roles came...but what of film. Enter Jeremy Casper and Vacant House. And then more roles: feature and short, music videos, commercials, and television. But it started (anew) with Jeremy. And for that I am entirely grateful.
- And we're grateful you returned to acting too, Richard!
